Soon to be open positions:"1st Inés Summer Internship CDG Program for Undergraduate Students" will shortly be openned.
Description:The CDG & Allies - PPAIN launches the "1st Inés Summer Internship CDG Program" to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to conduct summer research among the CDG & Allies - PPAIN. The goal of the program is to encourage students, from any nationality, in the pursuit of a scientific career and to introduce them to an international research experience.
A maximum of 4 internship positions will be awarded in 2018.
The programme runs from July 1st to October 31, 2018, and is open to undergraduate students of any nationality who are in their final two years of studies in the Life Sciences or related subjects (e.g. Bioinformatics, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemistry). The students will be working under the supervision of a group leader or a senior member of the research group.
Eligibility criteria:
Stipend: These are remote positions. Thus, there are not financial contributions. Although, students will be awarded by the outcomes that will be delivered thanks to their research projects. Notably, publications, attendance to conferences/workshops/courses, oral presentations, patient-friendly resources and so forth.
Hands-on workshops and reporting: To complement the internship, the students will be provided with hands-on workshops, they will be required to present the results of their research in a special session, and finally, they will have to prepare a final report at the end of the internship period.
Participating work packages or working groups:For this call, the work packages or working groups that have expressed interest in hosting a student are:
WP2 - CDG Diagnosis;
WP3 - CDG Genetics;
WP4 - Biology to guide therapies: WG CDG hematology;

- Undergraduates with an excellent academic record and a strong interest in biosciences and biomedical research (prior lab experience is not mandatory)
- Two full years (4 semesters) of college course work completed by the time the internship commences
- Candidates may not have received an undergraduate degree at the time of the internship (Summer 2016)
- High level of English
- a cover letter describing the applicant's research interests and career goals, and the names and contact information for two references.
